This bidirectional RS-232 switch and distributor from Delock connects a serial device such as a printer, measuring device, etc. with two USB ports and offers two possible uses.

1.
Distributor (both LEDs light up green)
The signals of the RS-232 device are available simultaneously at both USB ports of the distributor. This means, for example, that two programmes can use the data from the RS-232 device at the same time.

2.
Switch (one of the LEDs lights up green)
The data connection to the RS-232 device is set with the switch. This allows one of the two computers to use the serial device for bidirectional data connection.

The button activates USB port 1 or USB port 2 or both ports. The two LEDs indicate the respective switching status (switch or distributor).
