The RG178 cable:
The RG178 is one of the extremely thin high-frequency cables. It has an impedance of 50 ohms and is characterised by a diameter of only 1.81 mm, a stranded inner conductor consisting of 7x 0.102 mm wires and a bending radius of 10 mm. These characteristics are only undercut by the U.FL cable. At 1 MHz, the RG178 has an attenuation of 12 dB/km. The usable frequency range extends over the ISM band at 2.4 GHz. At this frequency, the attenuation is 2.5 dB/m. The cable sheath is made of FEP, which is why the cable is also suitable for high-quality applications in a high temperature range.
