The halogen-free Cat. 8.1 patch cable from kabelmeister® with slimline latching nose protection is capable of up to 40 gigabits and is therefore also suitable for demanding network connections.

Added value of Cat. 8.1 technology
Cat. 8.1 technology offers a range of improvements compared to previous copper-based network solutions. Data rates of up to 10 Gbit/s are no longer sufficient in many cases. Faster fibre optic solutions are unsuitable for widespread use due to their high costs. Cat. 8.1 patch cables are also suitable for 25 Gbit/s and 40 Gbit/s Base-T Ethernet networks, so that several 10 Gbit/s Base-T links no longer need to be interconnected to form a single logical connection. This means that fewer ports and therefore space are required, both of which are precious in data centres. The maximum bandwidth has also increased to 2000 MHz / 2 GHz.

High-quality cable construction
The conductors of this patch cable are made of copper (CU) and are encased in a high-quality S/FTP shielding (PiMF). The RJ45 plugs are shielded and fitted with 3 µ gold-plated copper contacts to ensure perfect signal transmission. This high-quality cable construction enables optimum signal transmission and higher breaking strength of the cable.

LSZH jacket for greater safety
In contrast to PVC cables, the Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) cable jacket causes only very low levels of toxic smoke gases and low smoke development in the event of a fire. This makes the cables ideal for laying indoors – they are mandatory in public areas.

Compatibility
The Cat. 8.1 patch cables from kabelmeister® are fully backwards compatible with previous versions with RJ45 connectors. This means they can be easily integrated into existing installations.
