Monitors the window status in the Smart Home
The ConnectSense eWindow handle reliably detects burglary attempts at the window and reports them to the Smart Home centre. In addition, both the position of the handle (closed, tilted, open) and that of the window sash (closed, open) are recognised and reported. By constantly comparing the position of the handle and window sash, it is possible to recognise exactly whether a window is actually open or whether only the handle is in the open position without the window sash having been moved. The eWindow handle ConnectSense offers extensive functions for monitoring the window status in the building – even while on the move via a smart phone message if necessary.

Detects burglary attempts at the window
A special algorithm distinguishes between an actual burglary attempt (e.g. levering open the window) and an accidental shock (e.g. caused by children playing with a ball). The user can use their smart home control centre to define deterrent measures that should be triggered if a break-in attempt is detected.

Offers more convenience
Regardless of the break-in attempt detection, the eWindow handle ConnectSense can be used to define scenarios that ensure greater energy efficiency and convenience.For example:

– Automatic throttling of the heating or air conditioning when the window is open for ventilation
– Automatic closing of the shutters only when the patio door is closed
Further scenarios are possible – depending on the structure of the smart home system and the preferences of the residents.

Transmission security
The eWindow handle ConnectSense works with the standard wireless protocol Z-Wave Plus. It is equipped with the current “S2” security standard and establishes encrypted communication in combination with a Z-Wave Plus smart home centre.

The radio signal is transmitted to the smart home centre both cyclically (e.g. every hour) and when the handle is actuated or in the event of an attempted break-in.
