This is how you can easily enter the world of Smart Home: Simply plug the Aeotec Z-Stick - USB Adapter with Battery Gen5+ into a PC, notebook, barebone, Raspberry Pi, etc. and it becomes the Z-Wave control centre for your Smart Home.
The Z-Wave network is controlled via the "Z-Wave Serial API" (according to the "Z-Wave Application Programmers Guide, INS10247"). This is also used by well-known Z-Wave control programs such as IP Symcon, Homeseer, etc.. This means that the USB stick can be used universally with various Z-Wave software solutions.
Thanks to the battery integrated directly in the stick, you can still include (teach) or exclude (remove) devices in your Z-Wave network using the local button on the stick, even when the PC or notebook is switched off.
