There are 20x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, 4x COMBO ports that can be used either as 4x additional 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports OR as 10G SFP+ interfaces, and on top of that there are 2x 40 Gigabit QSFP+ cages for ultra-fast fibre connections. Practical and future-proof!
The powerful Marvell Prestera switch chip, equipped with a dedicated CPU, can handle all your daily tasks without breaking a sweat. VLANs, jumbo frames, link aggregation, ACL rules... Even Layer3 routing is possible!
Dual redundant power supplies and an additional 100 Mbps Ethernet port for management purposes will save you a lot of trouble in the long run. And we've included everything you need to mount this marvellous switch in a standard 19-inch rackmount!
Like many MikroTik devices, this one was born out of necessity. Our video team needed a quick, cost-effective solution that would allow them to connect all their studio equipment without the need for a dedicated rack - the studio has no extra space. They use the 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect all the equipment, computers, additional screens and recorders etc. The four combo ports are for other departments in case they need to transfer film material for review. One 40 Gigabit line goes to the NAS media server and another 40 Gigabit line goes to the editor's multimedia station where all the magic happens. It's a Wirespeed switch, so the team can utilise the maximum speed on all ports, making the videos that much faster.
