The FIBARO Door and Window Sensor is a battery-operated, Z-Wave compatible contact sensor. It combines two devices in one easy-to-use product (reed and temperature sensor). The sensor can be used to monitor the status (open/closed) of doors, windows, window blinds or garage doors, etc. In addition, the integrated temperature sensor measures the temperature at the installation location and reports the value to the Z-Wave control centre.

The product consists of two elements, one of which is attached to the moving part of the window or door. The other part is fixed to the frame. The sensor must be included in the Z-Wave network using a remote control or another Z-Wave controller. If an action is detected by the sensor, it sends a signal to the Z-Wave control centre.

Compared to its predecessor, the FIBARO Door/Window Sensor 2 has a more compact and rounder design and the permanently integrated temperature sensor. However, there is no longer a free binary input available.
