Device authorised as a connection unit or termination unit for a fibre optic network. The patchbox is used in communication infrastructures as a transfer and test point for the fibre optic network. The patchbox contains Cca fibres and is therefore recommended for installation in individual buildings (airports, hospitals, shopping centres, schools, universities) that require a high level of security due to the large number of people. Euroclass Cca guarantees an adequate level of safety in terms of fire behaviour and emission of toxic fumes, reducing the risks of fire.
It contains fibre optic cables, one end of which is pre-connected to the patch box with 4 SC/APC connectors. This offers the installer more convenience and flexibility during installation, as the fibre optic cable can be routed through the various cable ducts to the desired point. The installer only has to make the splice or connect 4 fibre optic connectors at the connection point. In addition, the fibres are supplied in a patch box with a spool, which greatly facilitates the laying of the cable and reduces installation time and the risk of damage to the fibres.
The design also allows installation in other types of premises (car repair shops, classrooms, work benches, electrical cabinets, etc.) and use as a connection point.
